This is an eye-opening introduction to the world of coffee, led by your local experts at Zingerman’s Coffee Company. Sample coffees grown in Africa, Central and South America, and the Asian Pacific, that were roasted in-house and brewed fresh. Together we will evaluate these coffees using professional tasting techniques and tools.

Coffee 101: Brewing Methods

If you’ve visited the café at Zingerman’s Coffee Company or tried your cup at our Big Brew Board, you know there’s more than one way to brew the good stuff. In this class, we’ll review the keys to successful coffee brewing using a wide variety of methods, from filter drip to syphon pot. This tasting session will explore a single coffee brewed six to eight different ways, each producing its own unique flavor profile.

Tea 101

Tea is the world’s most popular drink (second only to water!), and for good reason. In Tea 101, you will taste and explore the six main types of tea and the most common tisanes (herbal “teas”). We’ll cover the history of tea, how to prepare and select tea, and some of the benefits of drinking tea. The class is also peppered with the colorful stories of espionage, tips for finding new teas you will enjoy, and practical suggestions for incorporating tea into your life.
